History  

 

Glow-Warm Heating Services Ltd was established in June 1976 by the late Peter Rowe. Having been in the plumbing and heating industry for many years in the Camborne area, Peter launched Glow-Warm and very quickly established a strong business with close links with local builders, merchants, local and national businesses.  

 

From day one, Glow-Warm became a major installer in the West Cornwall area for British Gas before it was privatised in the 1990's.  

 

Peter, with his wife Cynthia, grew the business to eventually employing 20 engineers and 5 office staff. Like many other business, the recession in the early 1990's reduced its workload and work force.  

 

Peter's two sons, David and Christopher, both served City & Guilds plumbing apprenticeships. David moved on to another industry but Chris stayed to eventually take over the family firm.  

 

Sadly, in December 1993, Peter passed away, which was a very sad loss, not only to the family but also to the customers, friends and Cornish business in general.  

Today, Glow-Warm remains as strong as ever in the local area with a large a loyal customer base. Some of Glow-Warms' customers are also in their second generation, with Chris trading with and alongside sons and daughters of long established local family businesses, such as Derek Bell Builders and the Seasalt chain of shops.  

 

Glow-Warm believe in loyalty which shows in its long term customs and long term loyal employees, such as Colin Trengove and Neil Roberts who have been with the Company for over 20 years. Colin having served his apprenticeship with the late Compair Holman engineering company in Camborne. Neil joined Glow-Warm from school and served a City & Guilds apprenticeship with the Company. Both engineers are well respected and experienced in all forms of plumbing and heating.  

 

Many projects have been completed over the years from individual domestic homes to multiple building sites, small shops to commercial industrial units. With hundreds of satisfied customers, we can offer references for any of the services offered.
